About Ron Allen

Ron Allen is the Propagation Manager for Mariposa Native Plants and serves as the Native Plant Gardening Coordinator for the Central Sierra Chapter of the California Native Plant Society.

His work centers on native plant propagation, habitat restoration, ecological education, and helping people understand the important relationships between plants, pollinators, wildlife, and the landscapes they share.

At Yosemite Goddess Festival, Ron brings a deeply rooted, nature-based perspective to the program through his session on monarch butterflies and milkweeds. His presentation explores the remarkable migration of monarchs, the biology and chemistry of milkweed, the relationship between plant and butterfly, and the traditional uses of plants in the Asclepias genus.

Ron’s work invites people to look more closely at the natural world and recognize the extraordinary systems of interdependence happening all around us. Through practical education and native plant stewardship, he helps participants move from appreciation into meaningful action.
