Wowza, transformational leader and ecstatic dance facilitator at Yosemite Goddess Festival

About Wowza!

Wowza is a transformational leader, actress, speaker, author, and embodiment pioneer whose work celebrates ageless vitality, freedom of expression, and the joy of being fully alive.

With more than six decades of experience in the human potential movement, Wowza represents what she calls the “new 80s” — a perennial, blooming anew with every passing year and inspiring others to do the same. Her life and work invite people to move beyond limitation, inhibition, and the old stories of aging into a more fluid, expressive, and passionately alive way of being.

Since 1979, Wowza has been a pioneering force in expressive arts therapies and innovative bodywork at the world-famous Esalen Institute. Her work explores the relationship between body, movement, breath, voice, emotion, and consciousness, helping people embody greater freedom, adaptability, and wholeness.

Her signature talk as performance art, Woe to Wow – Ugly Duckling into Swan, shares her journey of transforming trauma, physical and emotional abuse, a disfiguring skin condition, and deep inhibition into confidence, beauty, visibility, and leadership. That journey led her to become Miss Florida 1957, runner-up in the Miss America Pageant, spokesperson for the Florida Citrus Industry, and a featured guest on television programs across the country.

Wowza has offered seminars internationally on embodiment, leadership, breath, emotional expression, creativity, and transformation. Her programs include Ageless Body Language, Embody the Brilliance, Quantum Body in Motion, Breath Olympics, Emotional Fitness, Ecstatic Aliveness, Global Voice, Play of Genius, and Church of Wow.

She has studied with some of the most respected innovators in bodywork and movement, including Ida Rolf, Judith Aston, Milton Trager, and Moshe Feldenkrais, and is a certified teacher of Rolfing Movement Integration. Her corporate programs, including Fit to Lead and Computer Fitness, were also offered at companies such as Sun Microsystems and Oracle.

As an author, Wowza has written Wowzacise: Growing Young on the Ball and Sacred Actor: Igniting the Performance Art of Living, both of which reflect her belief that life itself is an expressive, creative art form.

At the heart of all she offers is a simple truth: change is always possible.
